About me

Caitlyn Agro is an emerging artist and future educator based in Alexandria, Virginia. Caitlyn is passionate about the ways creativity, art, and learning can connect people. Caitlyn has been a part of Nyack High School’s Art Honor Society as secretary and has had her work shown in the Rotunda Gallery at Ithaca College, as well as at the Handwerker Gallery at Ithaca College. 

Her recent work creates paintings that explore collage, focusing on the tension between memories and color. Her decision-making when using color comes intuitively, balancing colors and brightness. Memories rarely exist as single images; they overlap, blur, and shift over time. She creates digital collages using her own photographs. The collage becomes a vessel for these memories, allowing images to fuse and form new relationships. By layering and rearranging photographs from her archive, she builds compositions where figures, objects, and places merge into dreamlike spaces shaped by memory.
